Off Symmetry with Andre Pahl & Lizzie Urquhart
Off Symmetry is back with a new adventure, presenting two exceptional selectors — Andre Pahl (making his UK debut) and Lizzie Urquhart — alongside residents Ana K. Miller and Chriz for an ephemeral summer excursion in one of Salford’s hidden gems.
André Pahl crafts sonic odysseys. His eclectic selections conjure pitched down cosmic journeys to distant stars oscillating between psychedelic trips, experimental disco and voodoo percussions, exploring the slowed-down heartbeat of danceable music.
Originally from Düsseldorf by way of Amsterdam, Mexico City and Berlin, he’s been infused with the musical flavour of each new home base while, at the same time, retaining a palette that’s unmistakably his own. With a vast collection of rarities, including choice folk, kosmische and prog rock, André’s firmly plugged into the world of contemporary electronica.
Lizzie Urquhart is a DJ, artist and co-founder of record label Somewhere Press. She has honed her sound over a series of radio shows and guest mixes, characterised by their reflective nature. Her DJ sets take on a hypnotic EBM sound, a low-tempo pulse across pitched-down chuggers and leftfield dub – intertwining the dark, emotional and psychedelic into a meandering narrative.
